Cleaning & Restoration
Step 1. Inspection & Tagging
We inspect and notate EVERYTHING about your rug including: prior damages, staining, fading, any specific attention your rug may need such as pet urine accidents, dog chew on corner of rug, wine spill, pre-securing a rip, etc. Most importantly, what is the correct cleaning technique for YOUR rug!? Rugs come from hundreds of different regions and with Dr. Kay’s expert rug identification, we tag the rug for the proper cleaning technique.
Step 2. ROUNDS & ROUNDS of Dusting
Every single rug is dusted multiple times to get all the dry soil out of your rug! Our Tumble Duster is the most advanced rug dusting method, scientifically proven to get the deepest dust and dirt out of your rugs! During this process, we remove accidents such as gum spill, wax, dried pet accident, etc. that we do not want to spread during the wash.
Step 3. The Pre-Treatment Process
There are many rug cleaning issues that cannot be addressed by a simple wet-wash. We pre-treat stains with our unique 100% NATURAL and organic stain removal products. The best in the industry natural enzymes are used to break down food spills, wine and coffee spills, pet urine odder, urine stains, and much more! Here we also stabilize the colour of your rug to prevent colour-dye-transfer.
Step 4. Deep Clean My Rug
Every single rug gets washed individually front AND back on our snow white wash floor until we see clear water. We use our WoolSafe™ approved certified NON-Toxic rug shampoo for all cleanings. If your rug has pet urine stains with dog or cat pee odor, it gets submerged in a bathtub full of natural enzymes & live bacteria to eat the urine out of your rug! If your rug is just dirty, we take it straight to the wash floor where we use a dual enzyme technology to breakdown the dirt, grease, food spills, foot traffic, and much more.
Step 5. Rinse & Rewash!
Every rug gets cleaned a minimum of two times by-hand. We rinse the dirt out of your rug and redo the process to ensure our shampoo and enzymes have penetrated deep into the rug’s foundation. Here we flush out any remaining urine/dirt with thoroughly squeegeeing the rug with fresh water.
Step 6. Rinse, Rinse, Rinse
Many cleaners don’t rinse rugs well! With so much shampoo left in the rug, leading to stickiness of the fibre, the dried shampoo keeps on collecting new sticky dirt that you can’t vacuum out. Your rug will recollect dirt much quicker, meaning MORE MONEY spent re-cleaning your rug. We rinse and rinse until we don’t see any shampoo foam or dirt left in your rug.
Step 7. Water Extraction
The water has to be completely removed from your rug with our custom made, hand controlled, centrifuge rug extractor. Almost 95% of the water gets extracted in this step. This is done carefully and safely to prevent any damages or tears to the rug.
Step 8. Groom & Dry
Just like grooming our hair, we fully groom every rug after the wash to restore the natural direction of the pile/nap. Next, we naturally dry your rug with fresh air and dehumidifiers in order to suck the excess moisture out of your rug, with no harm from heat. In this step we also do a final round of deodorizing to get rid of any bad rug odor.
Step 9. Final Inspection & Color Correction
What sets us apart from others? If a stain is not safely removed with our cleaning, we will color correct it for you or do safe stain removal! This is something other cleaners will charge hundreds of dollars afterwards to have outsourced to get fixed. Instead, we do it for you, right here, at no extra hidden charge. And if we are not happy with the result of the cleaning or odor, guess what? We clean it again at no charge!
Step 10. Ready to Go Home?
We finish up by vacuuming the rug, artistically rolling it, and wrapping it so it’s ready for delivery or pick up. This is the most exciting part because we can’t wait to show you the clean rug! We welcome any comments or feedback if you believe the work can improve. Your satisfaction is the most important aspect of our business, as many of our clients have said that we are “redefining customer service”!
